I drive my cars fast all the time. I'm not busy talking on a cellphone or wearing an ipod cranked to loud when I do it. All my car friends take performance driving seriously and in all the years I've been driving performance not a single friend or myself has been in an accident.
The average person in their minvan doing 4 things at once is far more dangerous than a talented driver in a Lamborghini.

although nowadays it's hard to find a piece of Autobahn that's empty enough
i do 200-240 km/h quite regularly, but all my 3 accidents i had with my first car when i was 18 and i never did more than 40 km/h in any of them.
it's like with guns where everyone here always claims not owning them but using them kills. Not speeding kills but doing it irresponsibly.
