    Anyone from Ecuador here?

I need some assistance on the proper format when addressing an envelope being sent there. Would this be correct?

The name and street address I understand, but the city/state/zip I am not too sure about.

Coming from our form it says:

    Guayaquil GUA 00000 Ecuador

Would I just eliminate the 00000 and all would be well? Or should I eliminate the GUA as well?

You have to know the name of the mule that the sack of mail is carried on to your destination.

    Example:
    Ivaro DeCampos
    604 y Avenida Reina
    Pedenernales
    Burro Sancho
    ECUADOR

That plus a separate envelope addressed to the local Policia with a small bribe to ensure its delivery.

Having been to Ecuador a number of times let me tell you it wont matter how you address the envelope because it will get stolen before its delivered

That is pretty much what I am afraid of since I am sending them a check. I just wish they would answer their email.

if is a check a fedex or dhl will be okay, never postoffice...

and with fedex the zip code 0000 works fine as we don“t have zip code neither in my country and always arrives okay

and state in blank or GUA I think is okay too, they will know what do to...

Well, I am not sending it FedEx, so there could be a problem.

It may be wise to register it if thats possible? I love Ecuador and Peru but they do love to steal stuff, its like their national sport and the police could care less.

This is one of those occasions that I wish someone accepted epass. Again, if they would respond to their emails it would help a lot.

"couldn't care less", ie, they care so little that caring less is not possible. One of the most frequently misused English phrases!
