I'm sorry but... did I mention "Fear" there?, "Quick assumptions only denote a person's immaturity, even at an older age" (think about it)
People become religious/spiritual for many reasons but when they are starring at the face of death thoughts such as "is there anything after death" start to emerge; that's why they need some sort of hope to keep it all "glued together", if you consider this as "an awakening" stage so be it, it just shows you are religiously inclined, which is OK with me, and if you are 50+ it just confirms my point.
