    Russian scam using my pics to steal hundreds of thousands from people

    It started out with a few e-mails from people saying they were scammed by a girl who was using my pictures and it has turned into a really big thing. I guess they are using my pictures to get guys to send them money. First it's $150 and then they ask for $300 and after a number of e-mails they are asking for $3,000 so she can come to the US to marry these guys. From what I have heard so far thousands have been scammed at least. I have been contacted a number of times by the authorities wanting all the info I have on it. As bad as I feel for these guys why would they send money to someone in Russia they have never met? There are links all over the place now warning people about it. They have them up on Myspace, Yahoo and a number of other sites. Just trying to get the word out as much as I can so maybe they will get scared and quit! I mean they are trying to tell them they are paying for a visa and passport with it and they photo shopped my picture on them.                                               I wouldn't mess with the Russians. I would get a lawyer for the authorities to deal with so that the Russians don't come after you. Russians don't fuck around so keep a gun handy.

                                                  You underestimate the power of loneliness for some guys. You're dealing with divorced, lonely guys who have no luck with women. They feel this is their chance to get the "hot girl". Although they are idiots for sending money, these scam artists prey on one of the strongest human emotions and I feel bad for them.

                                                                                                                      There was a huge article about a guy that 'met a girl' in Yahoo chat and got scammed, trust ne they're really good. 'The girl' never asked for money, she was simply complaining about the hard life in Russia etc, when the guy offered to send her a few bucks she refused THREE times before she agreed to take the money.

                                                                                                                      The guy was very aware of the possibility of a scam but this convinced him that 'she's for real', and of course after he sent 'her' bigger chunk of money for visa and a ticket 'she' dissapeared.

I never said it was a great chop or anything like that but to a guy who doesn't understand the internet they don't know. I just want it to get enough attention that they quit using my picture because everyone is aware of the situation. I can use all the help I can get if people want to put the story on there web sites that would be great for starters but up to you. Melissa
