I've mentioned this fact a few times in megarotic, torrent piracy threads....
what suprises me that every time everybody just seems to ignore this.....
not that I personally care.....but it suprises me that many of the people
who make most noise use the same billing company as megarotic, tnaflix, etc,
etc for their phone/sms billing........oh well....as with every issue in our
industry there's always a lot of noise and next to zero action......that's
probably 1 of the reasons why our industry is a beloved target..........
I've decided to stop wasting my energeny to address these issues publically
and fight them in a way that benefits our industry as a whole...and just look
after my own business and the business of friends and people who are willing
to contribute to the cause.....which basically means a group less than a
dozen in an industry with 1000's of companies.....
Every once in a while I say.....fuck it let's try it again....maybe this time
people will finally stop whining about it and roll up their sleeves and do
something about it.......knowing fully well that that's nothing but wishfull
thinking.
Adult Companies are only able to work together if there's inmediate money
is envolved......Some of us are so blinded by it that they're excited and
happy as a kid if for example they managed to save money at some
part not realising or wanting to see that the cost or loss of profit it
took to save that money turns out to be 10 times more than was saved.
Good example for this: Successfull paysites hosted at low budget crappy
hosting providers......now 3 people will reply with remarks like I'm trying
to use this post to try to sell some expensive hosting.....which of course
isn't the case as I'm not in the hosting business or affiliated to any kind
of hosting company......it's just an example I've encountered hundreds
of time in my history as a sysadmin/developer.
The weakest part of our industry is that though regarding a lot of subjects
we're all in the same boat yet we don't seem to be able to act as a group
in any kind of situation......unless we can make a few hundred bucks withing
2 days with it........
Of course there's exceptions to the rule.....and ironically the exceptions
are the ones that eat from the biggest slice of the pie.....
