More like someone else gets what you pay for. You never see the taxation back, because the fact is most of gets wasted on scumbags, or lost in an inefficient and ineffective system. I support socialist policies to a degree, but certainly not to the degree the Scandinavian countries pursue it. Australia has only just started to move away from ridiculously high income taxes, to a low spending Government and it's a breath of fresh air. No longer do those who actually have ambition and work hard (and I don't mean just business people, but also those who work OT or have second jobs) get punished for their efforts. In the end it's a much better system for all if you ask me.
