Yeah, my cousin has one and I was watching it while he was out of town. Everytime it saw that I was eating something, it would grab a rock a start banging on the glass until I showed it what I was eating. I remember I left the lock off of the top of it's tank while I ran to the store and when I got back noticed a few fish missing out of the big saltwater tank. I left the lock off of his tank and went back outside for about 5 minutes, came back in and caught the little bastard red-handed sneaking back to his tank with a fish in his beak.

Killer whales are a trip. I just had dinner with a good friend of mine the other night, that used to be a commercial fisherman in Alaska. We were discussing Black Cod, and he told me this story.
Cod are bottom feeders, so when fishing for them they would use lines about a mile long, with bait spaced every 32"
They lay the line, then start trolling for a while, then would pull the line up as they were moving and they would find the heads of the cod on the lines, with the bodies gone. The killer whales were feeding off the lines. They had underwater cameras and would watch as families of killer whales would step up for this buffet. The father, then the mother, then the children. The whales would hear the machinery pulling up the lines so they knew where there was food. Kind of like seagulls that follow fishing boats.
The fishing boats only go about 12 knots top speed, and the whales could easily keep up enough to feed on a mile long line, but they could only do it for about 8 miles.
What they decided to do was go 10 miles from the pod, lay the line out, then drop the anchor and pull it up, which made the same noise as the rigs pulling up the lines. When the whales heard this they would head towards the boat and at that point they would get the boat running full steam and start the actual trolling. By the time the whales got there the boat was just getting the trolling going and the whales were too tired to keep following them.Comment

Some people and scientists believe that whales are very intelligent. Some even believe that whales may be more intelligent than people, and others believe that whales are no smarter than dogs are.
It is really hard to decide who is right in whale intelligence. It is a fact that whales have very large brains, but does a large brain mean that it is smarter?Comment
