    Anyone ever use hardwood floor sanding machines?

    i bought one like this and i was wondering if anyone knows how you're supposed to change the sand paper on it? i rented on a long tim ang and the paper was circular and just slid on, but this is different.

      The paper for that type comes in a continious roll, you need to cut it to suit the drum size, you slip one end in first then fold it around the drum and connect the other end.

      I think the two bolts visable in that picture are whats used to lock the paper in but I can't recall.

      Be carefull that you dont have a ridge left where the paper joins or you will get chattering markes left on the floor boards

        yeah i tried that peter, they wont really slip in when i tried it. mabye i was doing something wrong.

              when you twist those two bolts it should spread the drum for the paper to be clamped under.

              I have seen some like that one that have a steel bar go across the drum to hold the paper, the drum is tapered where the bar sits so it doesn't hit the floor.

                    I have, but it was years ago, and I just do not remember, however, I do remember one lesson from the expeience. Do not use your own vacuum cleaner to clean it up. That dust will fuck it up.
