I honeymooned in Aruba.

Check out the Hyatt if you want the ultimate in privacy. We stayed there and it was the best.

There is another beach section where many hotels are close to one another, if you are looking for a little more action.

The Hyatt was the only hotel at that time on one end of the main beach. Would go back there or recommend it highly.

Make sure you check out the "mountain" at the center of the island. It will give you an appreciation for more developed countries, and is not at all dangerous. Nothing about Aruba is dangerous actually, except for that one incident. Very rare.

Aruba has never been hit by a hurricane. Good choice. Even in hurricane season it's a good bet.

If you are into French food, check out Chez Mathilde. One of the best restaurants in the world, in my opinion. Haven't been back in a few years, so some info may be outdated.

Congrats on your engagement!

Oh, Aruba, one week, everything top notch, I spent about 16k for the honeymoon, including room, air, food, tourist stuff. Can be done for a lot less probably.
