Penthouse's owners, Marc Bell and Dan something, made their money in the early days of the Net in mainstream - I believe with an ISP and other high tech investments. They ended up with Penthouse by accident - they never intended to get into adult but Bob Guccione ran Penthouse so far into the ground they were forced to take it over or lose the millions they had loaned Penthouse. Not sure if those guys personally have the kind of money to pay 1B for AFF but they would be able to put together that big of a deal I bet.
