    Why doesn't anyone add DRM to their members' videos?

    Just a general question for program owners.

    I've noticed no one adds DRM to their videos, why is this? Or is it because the Microsoft DRM is so easily hackable, it is basically pointless? What about other methods?

      Because the last time I did, the fucking company went out of business and rendered all my videos useless so I had to redo them all.

                  because members hate it

                  it hurts sales

                  the cost benefit ratio is way out of whack

                  and...it has been hacked.....easy to defeat now days

                                  Surfers HATE it and it is a pain in the ass for them to use. Also, look at sites that use it, most will still have some videos online that people have hacked. If members want to get your videos and share them, they are going to no matter what kind of DRM there is. So why inconvience the surfers who it just annoys.

                                      Plus the rep of DRM has been ruined with all the scam sites using it. Download what you think is a free video and the hassle they have to go thru afterwards. Opeing a 30 second video turns into a 5 minute ordeal. Everytime i opened one up i was suspicious of viruses and stuff like that, though i never read of a virus being sent that way, you hear of all the other explits they use with movie files and granting that 'license' access to download to my comp always frightened me.

                                          Plus the way you have to DRM.... It's a total pain in the ass. For example, Lets say I use a CMS that can automatically thumbnail... Well I need to have that part done BEFORE the DRM can be applied or that feature can't work. Plus your putting all your content into the hands of someone else. If they cam up with a way to do it that was FULLY controlled by the person using it, then maybe... but there really is no good solution that I have ever seen out there for the smaller companies.

                                                                      That sucked I had thousands of my video clips encoded and they were all virally circulated using Kazaa. I had a DRM that would give pop-up hell and rewrite every single cookie on their computer. I was making a lot of cash doing that shit.....then it was all gone

                                                                              I would have thought that the porn industry as a whole would have created a DRM system that works by now. Maybe more creative methods are a better idea
