Wow, sorry I can't really stand up for the kid in this instance.
He wrote some very disturbing stuff and it has to be investigated. Threatening the president *whether I like him or not* is a felony and should be reported.
Not only did he write about wanting to harm the president but others as well.
Now I seroiously doubt the kid will get the chance to hurt the president, but what about kids he goes to school with.

The kid committed a crime, a felony. He has to be investigated for that crime.
I doubt the Secret Service is gonna actually charge him with anything and the kid will get some necessary help.
But when a crime is committed, especially something like this it should be reported. The principal I'm sure was following procedure by notifying the proper authorities, and then the "proper authorities" were following procedure.

That aside, the administration announced via Ari Fleisher 4+ years ago you are no longer able to say anything you want without reprocussion, a 7th grader's youthful naivety aside if you say or write "the wrong things" you are liable to be "brought to account". Sucks, but "enough" people want it that way

Now, think back a year or so ago about that Indian kid that killed a bunch of classmates, and upon closer investigation was discovered to have a MySpace profile where it was pretty obvious the kid had issues.

On my perfect day , a character i call "BokeyTheSmear" puts a bullet in bush's face after tying oprah to the front of a train and sending it off a cliff.. of course i would NEVER do such things , but "bokeythesmear" on the other hand is a crazy mofo glad i'm not him

Point #1. Well, he's a fucking kid. In these times, you gotta watch out for the little fuckers. They're sketchy and will pop a cap in your ass when you're not looking. Cuz' parents aren't parents anymore, rather just some grown figures handing out money and not spending quality time with their child.
Point #2. Well, he's a fucking kid. In these times, us grown ups gotta worry about those sketchy fuckers because we don't remember what it was like to be full of angst / turmoil / messed up emotions. That, and us grown ups have no time to spend with these little rugrats and after a few school shootings we're scared to death of them. So when one pops off about his inner aggression, we bust his ass, because it's wrong.
Point #3: Just look at society today... Personally, I feel bad for children, for so many different reasons.

It has always been their policy to investigate all reported claims of potential violence against a President, no matter who made them. If they get a report, they MUST investigate it. So they did nothing wrong there.
It's a little far out that the school would notify authorities over this though.Comment
