Yup, insurance covered about 70% of the total cost, still had to pay 1500 though and for me that's a pretty good chunk of cash.

wow 30% is $1500.... Going by that, total cost was somewhere around $5000??

A lot of people would have just had the cat put to sleep, well done for not taking that option. You can always earn more money!

Yes the total was somewhere around 5K, animal care is outrageously expensive in Sweden. Had to fix him though, he is the best cat ever.

I bought pet insurance... I know it sounds stupid... as long as you look into the company and read the fine print... it's a good investment... Its already paid for itself...

Not stupid in the least, actually. Responsible and highly intelligent, I would say.

I've spent probably close to $2000 this year alone in vet bells on uninsurable dogs. I WISH I could get the insurance.

I wish I had bought pet insurance...I never thought it would pay for itself.
But in the past month I've spent almost $3500 on my cat's medical care, and he goes back in on Wednesday so the bill will be going up again.....

He's worth it....

But it does hurt that I spend a lot more on his medical care than on mine
