Cantrell isn't actually an A1 fighter so it doesn't surprise me that he got his ass whooped.
He lost his last 4 fights before this match. This loss brings his record to a crappy 10 wins, with 11 losses.
Would love to see Kimbo fight Paul Buentello like they talked about previously. Now that would be a real test.Comment

Well to give the guy credit, he did fight on short notice. That and it was Kimbo 1st fight, so it's not like he's get a chance at a real A1 challenger anyway. iSMOKE.. it was his first MMA fight for that series. They don't just throw a new guy in and give him a shot at a title. Reguardless of who you are u have to work up to the top fighters. Kimbo has no fight histry in that kind of professional fighting series. That was his first pro fight. The fight with Ray Mercer was just an exhibition and doesn't count on his pro record like amateur fights wouldn't count. Garbage no matter how you look at it Bo Cantrell took a dive whether he was paid to do so or not. This is what happens when boxing promoters get involved with mma.Comment

here's what i have to say about Kimbo.. Comments welcome...
I think he is a decent fighter. Not a great fighter, but a decent fighter. He has some boxing skills and some power. However, if you put him with a top MMA or Pride fighter, I am about 98% sure he will lose.
Since training with Bas, I think his ground game has gotten better, but he still needs a lot of work with his kicking game. I would love to hear Anthony's critique of Kimbo.
At the end of the day, I think Tito, Couture, etc., or even a strong grappler in a light heavy weight class could beat him.
I think the promoters are taking it easy with Kimbo so they can arrange a big payday fight for him. I like Kimbo, but so far I have only seen him fight guys that are in the same weight class as Kimbo, but aren't really decent fighters....Comment

I almost wanna say big name UFC fighters would beat him, but i have nothing to base that on. He hasnt been in the ring long enough to show any skills that he might have...he keeps ending his fights too soon.Comment

I agree 100%. Street fighting is one thing. And I also agree that any top UFC/Pride/WEC, etc fighters could beat him. The only thing I think is in Kimbo's favor is that tyhe top MMA fighters are not in the heavyweight division...Comment

I dont think stepping into the UFC would be a good idea for him until he gets some more fights under his belt and gets more training...but I still cant back that up. He's never had to show his skills. He might be a great fighter but no one is ever gonna find out until he gets tested. 2 second KO and a 30 second choke doesnt leave much room to judge his overall skill.Comment

It was nice to see him win, but he needs a better fighter to go up against. Not a top-ranked pro fighter, but someone respectable and game. This fight was way too short, and it left me hungry to see what he could do against some real competition.
