How about ftp, telnet, scripts, and mysql dbs? yes. Also PHP and Perl

You know anything about automation? yes, most of my sites use scripts I write to automate parts of them

Do you know how to read your stats? yes, I've written my own custom stats script

I started when I was 18 coding html by hand in notepad (thank god homesite finally came along)....

I have a photoshop certification. I know telnet, ssh and my way around a server (as long as it isn't windows)

If it can't be automated, it isn't worth my time anymore

I don't read stats anymore, I create them ;)

When kids say they are a webmaster, or own a web site, just because they have a poorly developed myspace page, auto-generated angelfire etc page.
That just really bugs me...

I really think that GFY should be renamed as an "Adult Industry Board", in the past few years the user base has far exceeded webmasters, pretty much the entire adult industry reads it, and lots of the video side post here

Hmm...

I do my own designs
I do some of our own codes (no time to play all day coding, but I got mad skillz, so I need hired help)
I do all my html by hand
I let phatservers deal with my server, even though I know the basics..but can't afford to fuck anything up there.
I do everything else on my own

I'm a webmaster, but not very smart. I should NOT do everything myself.. inefficient. I just like to do it myself, since I think I can do it better than anyone else. I'm narcissist like that.

All of the above, although I let the wife do the html (I hate doin' it).

You should've added marketing and promotion to the list, though. That's a huge chunk of being a successful webmaster IMO.

I actually don't do any of those tasks very well. I know enough to get by, but typically hire someone to do programming and design for me. My skill is in SEO, so I'd rather pay people to get what I want faster than I could ever do it. Then again, I don't refer to myself as a webmaster, more like an Internet marketer.

I am not a super webmaster but I can read HTML ,
make and submit galleries , run tgp scripts , tradescripts ,
run tgp and mgp
know photoshop most of the functions ,
if you can't even read stats u better go back to school
