Actually, I follow the rule that the fewer the better. Pare those icons down and your system will load faster and run better.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
true,i dont have 130-150 icons all the time, but definetely I have a many, almost always more than 100. I create temp folder once in a while on my desktop and move them there before they fill the whole screen!
....shemp sounds like a winner here. If he has that many icons in daily basis then
i don't understand how someone can do fast a task if he has to open eachtime 10 windows and move his mouse up to Alaska...
The best tip to save time so u don't move your mouse to much, is to put your menu bar on top, if you think about it, most of the time your mouse is on the upper half of your screen...
If you lose 1second 30 times a day that is 30 second a day and that is 900 second a month. THAT IS A WHOPPING 9 Minutes a month you are losing moving your mouse.
ZERO icons... and notice that all shortcuts are in the toolbar.
I also have a shortcut in the toolbar to my D: drive which is where everything I'd ever need sits.
FreeBSD with Gnome, 16 virtual desktops! No icon
puking needed.
Only time you should fire up an MS product is a quick
once over of your hand coded in pico/vi pages just
to make sure the lame asses of the world can see
what you intended.
If there are two things I hate in the world, its icons on my desktop, and applications that after you install them assume that you want them to startup with the machine. Motherfucker I hate that.
I love it when people bitch about how slow their machine is and then when I look in the taskbar I see 35 apps running.
i agree labret, what i hate more than programs that assume you want them to start with windows, is programs like real player (which i dont use anymore) that when you take them out of startup with msconfig, they put themselves back in there every time you run the program. that should be against the law.
