It's gonna be fast as shit, it's got a twin turbo v6 putting out 450hp. Add that to the even more advanced Attesa awd system, and it'll be an 11 second car easily. The only thing that kept the 32 33 and 34 gtr's from being monster fast was the limited power output in stock trim, but that still didn't stop them from getting low 13's. Not bad for a 1500kg 280hp pig.Need custom blog posts or articles? Hit me up: Blog And Article Writer

This is semi-true. There's still at least two companies bringing in Skylines, as well as any other car you want. They wont say how they get them legalized, but their cars are registered as what they are, skyline's are registered as skylines, etc etc. The only thing they've said is that they have to import the cars as parts and then put them back together.Originally posted by SquireMDas i understand it (the GF works at the DOT in DC) skylines aren't available in the USNeed custom blog posts or articles? most states won't register them without serious modifications done by specialized places that gouge you...
can't people find a better car? these things are ugly...and playing the devils advocate, would anyone even care about them w/o the fast and the furious?Comment

The old skylines rule. They should continue making them with the same looks, just a bit modernized like they do with porsche 911's. Thats one big-ass change and now its fugly as fuck.

uhm. obviously you don't know to to much about jap tuner cars.
the short answer is yes. people would definitely still care. they cared before that crappy movie. the only thing that movie did was make some little kids with civics and cavaliers want one.
the skyline is an amazing piece of machine.
-edit- was there even a skyline in the first movie? i don't think there was.Last edited by smack; 01-30-2006, 10:32 AM.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.Comment

To add to his point, the Skyline IS the staple of Japanese Automotive Super Tuner cars, it has been around since before a lot of us were born.
That's why there is so much hype behind this new proto GT-R because it's all eyes on Nissan right now. All the japanese manufacturers will now have to compete with that car, on and off the circuit.Comment

I push an Infiniti and I wouldn't exactly classify it as a waste. In the 40k price range Infiniti, Audi or Acura is the way to go unless of course you want to be like the 30,000,000 other sheep out there pushing 3 series' and C-classesOriginally posted by EroticySteveI'd rather push a Mercedes than drive that.
The new "Skylines/Infinitis" are a waste★★★

drifiting a civic? i dunno how well that would work out, being it is FWD and all.
but honestly, look around, drifting has been getting bigger and bigger every year. it has little to nothing to do with that movie.
it's a damn cool form of auto racing. personally i like rally racing, but drifting is just about the pinnacle of car control. it gives a whole new meaning to driving a car "on the edge".Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.Comment

i highly doubt this will make it to production. Not that its super ugly, but how can they even consider this to be the new generation of the skyline?

There are reasons they didn't go with the V8...engineers couldn't get the feel and balance they wanted with the added weight of the V8.Originally posted by KMR Stitchit's sad thats it's just a boosted V-6 lol
Those guys know what they're doing. They are going after the SL and the F430...not Camaro's and Mustangs.★★★

Very easy to drift a FWD, granted that it's not a "true" drift in the sense... but you can still do it with the proper weight shifted and good ebrake skills.Originally posted by smackdrifiting a civic? i dunno how well that would work out, being it is FWD and all.

We would love to have had the R-34 but ended up with the R-33 instead. I just find that I dont like the look of ANY of the basic models. Ok they are sporty but if your wanting attention like most "barries" and drive down the street in a skyline with an FTO behind you most chances are people (that dont know shit about cars) will look at the FTO because it has more of a sports look. Albeit there are some people that know cars and will give the skyline a gawk but the average Joe doesnt even know what one is.
The hubby has a massive ego when it comes to his car, he drives dwn the street saying oh aye hes staring at my car and I just laugh. Its amazing so many people get pleasure out of these things despite the fact it costs silly amounts of money to keep the car on the road. I am very glad we have got the skyline though, a few months ago we nearly crashed into a wall and another car and if it wasnt for the high spec of the skyline we would have been dead. It is a safe car although the seatbelts are tiny...but I have always said it could look better...
The new model just sucks...Comment

Drifting is growing rapidly Down Under as a 'cheaper' form of motor racing with street legals allowed to participate (with a change of tyre naturally). The fact that the V8 Super Touring is using drifters as pre-show entertainment is really pushing its popularity to new heights.Originally posted by smackdrifiting a civic? i dunno how well that would work out, being it is FWD and all.

BTW our Aussie racing http://www.v8supercar.com.au/ is an awesome and tough form of motorsport.Comment

An ICI such as motorex (also my company in a few months) can bring in a Skyline and change the front and rear bumpers for dot and go to obd 2.5 emmisions to make it street legal. There are far more than 3 companies doing it, Motorex has the biggest sign because they have been paying magazines for a while now to be the only ICI listed saying we can get you Skylines, others have been bringing them in for years either ligit or illegally. You can also register it as an altima if you know how to, calling it a conversion (flame if you want seen it a few times in Cali) the same as I have been seeing Silvias in the country being registered as S13 and S14 240sx, just have to know who to talk to and take the chance if you are willing.
After 15 years though none of this matters in the US and you can bring the car in and change nothing without worries of legalities. It is 10 years in canada and bringing a vehicle from Canada to the US is allowed, so you can actually shave 5 years off right there. I have seen a lot of R30's in the west and in Canada and it will only be a few more years before the 32 becomes street legal because of age in North America.
I actually saw this concept years ago (02 or so) and did not really like it to much, they tweeked the look a bit and released the 350z/G35 it was interesting to see that they changed it a bit more and are still planning on releasing. I have heard talks that the actual skyline as in GT-s and GT-R are being worked on for release here following the footsteps of Mitsu and Subaru who brought over their hardest hitters, we shall see if they do it since sales of the Evo and WRX did not do was well as they would have hoped,
If you ask me the Skyline is still a heavy car, Atessa is over rated but getting better and you are still going to have that terrible brake fade problem in this car as you saw in the 33 and 34. I'll still take the Evo III or IV over the Skyline any day.even ADULTS need TOYS
