                          Fortaleza (Northeast), but I'm originally from São Paulo. I've never been to a carnival party, so I can't help much.

                          But yeah, carnival in Salvador is good... but you won't see the samba parade like in Rio and São Paulo there.

                                                                              spent 11 months there. never wanted to come back home. had to leave cuz my fucking work visa expired.

It is really crowded and you have to have a VIP pass to get close to samba competitions. I have never been to carnival in Rio but I was in Sao Paulo 4 years ago and it was crazy. Friend of mine was working for Mary Kay IT department and was in Rio for carnival and it was insane. If you have a lot of money you can even get in to marching band? But I imagine it is fucking crazy no matter where you go during carnival. I?ll just hit Mardi Gras?

                                                                                                                                                                          well i could have, but i stopped working there. well legally anyhow. lol. then the visa expired and i just stayed. funny thing though. when i left the brasilian customs and immigration officers were so fucking cool and they didnt even pretty much care at all. they just basically said, go back and get the new visa but this time get a tourist visa and you can extend indeffinitely if you want. LOL.
