You should think about dropping out of that persona a little more often. Maybe you're playing up to the audience at hand, it's a good marketing ploy, but at the same time it probably reinforces a stereotype a little too much...allowing people that don't have contact with gays very often to believe in the stereotype over the reality.
The reality is the normalcy of the letter you wrote. I wouldn't mind having that person as a neighbor, friend, and I certainly wouldn't care if they got married or had some form of civil union, whatever.
The BoyAlley persona, yeah, I'd probably not want to live next to that guy, hell you probably wouldn't want to live next to that guy, lol. Again, I realize it's just a persona, but I'm sure that many gfy'ers believe that stereotype is the reality.
