It doesn't say fat is broken down IN the liver, is says the liver breaks down fat, and that is the primary function of the liver, which you would know if YOU had read my links.
Liver produces bile which is then ejected into stomach. Fat is broken down in the stomach and intestines.
The primary function of liver is NOT the breaking of fat.

anyway, quit your liver bullshit.
the fact is that if you fast for a week, you will lose some of your fat. and you will not get ill -- in fact, you will feel yourself much better, because your body will also process the toxins that youve accumulated from all the shit food.Comment

Surprisingly... no. Very little fat is lost when going on a sudden fast for a week. The body actually "circles the wagons" so to speak.... it perceives a drought so it goes into a mode of conservation. The body will conserve stored up fat, and will draw it's nutrients from muscle and other tissues.Originally posted by Lord Nelsonthe fact is that if you fast for a week, you will lose some of your fat.
An overweight person is better off keeping a sensible balanced diet of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy and lean cuts of meat, eat 5 smaller meals a day instead of tthree larger ones, and get out and walk or some other light to moderate exercise three times a week and the weight will come off, and in a healthy way.

Damn. This thread took a few twists and turns while I was out.
Meals should consist of protein, carbs and fat. This is what the body needs. Percentages of each should be balanced in order for the body to metabolise properly.
Exercise consists of challenging cardio to make the heart healthy and to help increase metabolic function...because cardio doesn't differentiate what it burns, read above and make sure each small meal consists of protein, carbs and fat...in the proper percentage for your body.
Add to that weight training and resistance training to tone muscle and increase endurance and stamina and weight loss is assured. At the same time, as muscles are worked on, metabolism works as it should.
There are few medical conditions that affect metabolism..
Diet without exercise may result in weight loss, but does nothing to promote healthy muscles and increased metabolism. Weight training/resistance training without proper nutrition denies the body of essential balance.
All three components are needed in order to achieve the goal, which is to lose body fat and keep it off.
As to men cheating on women, not all men cheat....many want to...dream about it, fantasise about it but don't do it...for several reasons, not the least of which is the cost to the wallet and the ensuing life changes that occur if they get caught. Men and women who marry, however, are not dead and will look and fantasise until the day they die...stats indicate that 60% of men cheat, with about 40% of women who cheat...
It's biological to want to fuck...and it is that biology that allows us to live very decent lives providing men and women with porn.....
The smart ones don't try to educate and don't get caught, nor do they do the stupid death bed confession thing.Raven

For ten years, I tried everything...nothing worked until I finally gave in and followed the nutritional program, exactly as CD Smith describes, a proscribed amount of calories, cardio three times a week and weight/resistance training four times a week.
I am almost at my first goal..and we will reassess goals when I lose the last of the eleven pounds I have left.
I've lost 21% of my body fat and 46 pounds...and I am reasonably sure it will stay off.
I will be buff by next year. Even though this has taken nine months and will probably take another year to complete phase two...it took ten years to put it on, so this is nothing, in terms of time.Raven

yes, body can perfectly function just by breaking down all the extra fat stored in your body. thats the #1 reason for fat to exist - so it can be stored up and when the 'hard times' come, the body can fall back on it.
Bullshit... fasting like that only puts your metabolism into "shock" mode. Your body thinks it's going to starve, therefore it may loose weight at first, but once you start eating again, your body will put TWICE as much into fat because it may go through another period without food..
Instead of being a complete fucking retarded dick, why not shut the hell up? If someone wants to loose weight, NOT EATING is a STUPID fucking solution. The BEST solution is to get a nutritional counsellor and work it through with them.

We can all agree that not eating isn't the solution. Gradually cut down the portions / eating better will show better changes. At least it did for me . I eat a bit less, and I cut off bad foods (I still allow myself some crap), and I slowly loose weight.Originally posted by rayadp05I rebooted, deleted temp files, history, cookies and everything...still cannot view the news clip. when fasting, metabolism will not go into "shock mode". it slows down during fasting, but it gets back to normal once you start eating again.
if it was how you are saying, then skinny people who want to gain weight could just fast for several days, then start eating and gain twice as much weight.
that is not the case. metabolism auto-regulates itself.Comment

Fact: If you stop eating for a week the weight lost will be water and muscle. A body with more muscel will have a faster metabolism. The way to do it is to eat little and often, take your time with food as it takes approximately 20 minutes for the brain to register it's full. Eating speeds up the metabolism..it's what you eat that counts.Originally posted by Lord NelsonNo, you are the dumb fuck.
In what way will they become ill?
Body will start to recyle all the fucking lard stored and function on it.
If you starve yourself your body will go into survival mode and store every calorie you eat...hence slowing down your metabolism.Comment

but the fatties have virtually no muscle - they are just bloated with fat. so there's nothing they should worry about.
and no one is stopping you from drinking water when you fast.Comment
-
Oh and Lord Nelson, I don't know you and I'm not making excuses for those who choose to pig out and get large...but not every one is large because of that. It is true that some get that way through medical reasons.
But it is also true that if you follow a sensible eating plan, get some exercise and drink plenty of water you will be healthy, regardless to your size. You will mostly likely lose weight too. But losing weight means losing fat, not water or muscle tissue if you stop eating for a week. Less muscle means less calories burned.
You just seem to have a hatred for fat people and you talk like you're a nutritionist. If I'm gonna take any dietary advice it will be from experts not someone who clearly knows nothing about biology.Comment

The buttom line is: no one is born to be super sized. If each one of these cows decided to eat sensible and healthy and actually exercise they wouldnt be obese. Plain and simple. No excuses.
It is also funny how when countries set up gulags or concentration camps, or go into a long drought, none of these "genetically fat people" seem to exist.Comment

I'm a fat girl, and I invite you to ask practically anyone who met me at either show I've been to if I have no muscle. In fact, some of my own BBW niche fans don't like me because I am TOO firm, and I know for sure that isn't not that my bones are that damn big...it's a thick layer of muscle underneath a thick layer of fat.

Those who choose to eat tons of crap and put on weight, well at the end of the day that's their choice. Those who choose to eat healthily and exercise that's their choice. As you get older your metabolism does slow down...when I was in my early twenties i could eat anything and not gain an ounce of weight. Now I'm 33 I have to work at keeping a trim figure. I do it because it's my personal choice to do so. But even the percentage of people who are obese through medication or through a very slow metabolism, well I just don't think it's fair for you to judge them and insult them when the reason may not be their fault. I agree that the majority of large people is as a result of what they put into their bodies and their day to day activity. But it's certainly not the case for all.
My friend is skinny as hell and she eats all sorts of fattening foods. I have to watch what I eat. If I put on a few pounds over Christmas then I will diet and exercise to lose it again. But I do think you're being very black and white about this and not looking into the individual's circumstances. I just hope for your sake that your future wife or girlfriend won't mind if you go bald or if you have to take a medication that makes you put on weight no matter how little you eat.Comment
-
Then I'm sure you studied identical twins. Identical twins almost always weigh within 5-10 pounds of each other from birth through adulthood. Even identical twins who were separated at birth are still approx. the exact same weight/body fat percentage/etc. as each other. Doubtful they spent every minute of every day eating and exercising the exact same...........Originally posted by MichaeliousAah the usual debate about this crap. I'm fat because I come from a very "stocky" family. We're all incredibly healthy - my grandparents lived into their late 80's with no health problems and my parents who are both almost 70 are healthy. But we have to excericse A LOT because we have low metabolism. Unfortunately, I'm one who doesn't excercise a lot

And besides, why is this all directed at women? Men can get fat too! Should the wives or girlfriends go and have affairs because their man gets fat? Those men who go out and cheat....how would you feel if the person you fell in love with, trusted and built a life with had an affair behind your back? You say it's a man's thing to be that way but that's an excuse. Being unfaithful is a choice. NOt a need, it's a choice. I choose to be faithful. If I couldn't be faithful I'd stay single so I could go fuck whoever I wanted without anyone getting hurt. But when I'm in a relationship with someone cheating is the last thing on my mind not only because it's just not me to do that but because I have respect for the person I'm with. I don't care if they put on weight or go bald or have an accident and end up in a wheelchair. It's all about COMMITTMENT.
If you can't be faithful don't get married. If you're shallow enough to go cheat because your partner puts on a few pounds then stay single. If you find it fun to go and disrespect your partner by cheating then how the hell can you say you love them? Love should run deeper than just looks...afterall when we are old, grey and wrinkly none of us are gonna be 'sexy'.
Love is about RESPECT. Trouble with some of you guys is you think with your dicks and don't have any consideration for the people you claim to love. You want your cake and eat it. I'd be curious to know how you would handle that being done to you.Comment
