Actually Sparta wasn't that bad about male on male sex. Most Spartan men liked women just as much if not more than men. Athens was known as the real center of homosexuality and boy love. Spartan relationships between two men were more about respect and brotherhood although homosexuality was still more prevalent than today all over Greece.
