    Extending laptop battery life...

    Maybe a silly question...

If I remove the battery from my laptop while it's plugged in, will that help extend the battery's life? Or does it not make a difference?

    that won't make a difference

the best thing you can do is let your laptop drain all the way down til it shuts itself off, then plug it in and keep the power cable in until it is full charged

my battery was down to 30 minutes and I did that routine for a week and it is now back up to 2 hours

I've seen it said that some laptop charging circuits aren't very friendly to batteries that are connected constantly, since they're only being topped up. Fully discharging and recharging the battery may refresh it, but it's probably better to prevent the capacity degradation in the first place.
