if it has pr0 and when you search for the domain it doesnt show its probablt banned if its not a fresh site.

another good method on google is if you search for the full domain on google you will get
but if you put in a domain that is banned like www.vipcrew.comCode:Sorry, no information is available for the URL www.gfy-test.com If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: www.gfy-test.com Find web pages from the site www.gfy-test.com Find web pages that contain the term "www.gfy-test.com"
you will get...

btw this method will only show if the actual domain is banned , there are many types of penalties that would really hurt your site that this wouldnt show
Heres another method to see how penalized your site is on google..
Search for your target keywords using both methods , if you notice a big difference in ranking of your site , your likely being penalized..
