I'm having 25% of my rebills declined. is it normal?

    Hi everybody.

I opened my first paysite about three months ago and things going well with it. Most of the first time credit card transactions get approved with no problem.

My problems is with rebills. Around 25%-35% of my automatic rebills gets declines. It doesn't really make sense to me because their credit card already been charged once. Why would it have problems being approved now?

Does anyone else experiencing this kind of trouble? is it normal, or is there a problem with my billing company?

Thanks for reading this, sorry for my bad English

most people take just one rebill, specially if you do not have huge site with lot of material and constantly new material, he just download what he want and withdraw rebilling

that would result in a chargback. I'm talking about active members who hasn't cancelled their membership, but their credit card is declined...

Those could be guys paying with Visa branded gift cards / prepaid cards.

Lots of guys buy a prepaid Visa or Mastercard at Walgreens or CVS. Its good for $100 or $200 or whatever. This keeps the wife from knowing whats going on.

They join a few sites -- burning up the value of the card. There is no cash left on it when rebill time comes.

some cc companies also offer onetime card numbers for anonymity. they might be using these to sign up, then the cc company clears the number.
