    WhoisGuard for .US Domains
WhoisGuard for .US domains will be disabled on Jan 26, 2005 and customer's real contact information will start showing on .US WHOIS. This is mandated by the United States Department of Commerce?s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). WhoisGuard can no longer be activated on .US domains as well. If you have any questions, please contact support

all the little guys who run TGP's with .us domains from their homes, must be happy

They didn't really mean for it to be in the first place, did they? Otherwise registration info wouldn't have been public.

I didn't say the opposite. Any privacy you experience consider it as a temp. situation and not a gained, permanent right.

been like that for a while with godaddy.com, they say its because you have to be a US resident to own a .us domain, so thats why your address must be displayed (to verify that u live in the US).

After the cold war it seems that the US has proven time and time again that it is the least "free" country next to China. It's really sad. What do they hope to gain from this?
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

                Webair, bitches.

I own about 50 .us domains 3 years already and I am not from the us. How they are allowing to register these domains if non-us ppl cant own it !?

                      Yes you are correct,
This came down from NeuStar, who is the regsitry for the .us extension.
