Based solely on my own experience I'd say on average 3-4 thumbs get clicked.

On average being the key words.

Depends on a lot of factors though. Some really great galleries out there, but some have poorly made thumbs. Others have really great thumbs but lousy full size pics. And... some surfers just click the money shot pics and move on to the next.

It's all voodoo and chemistry.

Yeah, I'd have to say it completely depends on the thumbs / content.

I have this theory where using slightly bigger thumbs will result in less of them being clicked due to the subject matter being clear and in focus in the thumb.

I'd rather nobody ever clicked on any of my thumbs and just went straight to the sponsor and signed up, but yeah, I don't think there's an average...
