One of the coolest things I've heard about in the wake of the SoCal fires is the number of families that have suffered loss due to fires of past stepping up to offer their advice and council to the families experiencing the problems now.
It's like their own support group... and they figure, with the guidance, the families that lost their neighborhoods to these latest fires will have an 80% reduction in the time it takes them to get their lives back together again.
