    Site promotion and gay niche

    I'm new to this forum and to the adult webmaster world. I'm planning on creating a gay blog, but had some questions about the niche and about site promotion in general.

    How well does the gay niche convert? Would it better for me to decide on a specific niche within the gay world (such as black men or twinks?)

    What is a link dump?

    I've got the general idea of hardlinks, but I still don't understand the details. Could someone explain it to me? One specific question I have is, do both sites agree on a length of time that the links stay up, or do they stay up indefinetly?

      The gay niche does very well. On the question of link exchanges, it is up to the sites to decide how long they are up. Some sites do not keep links that are not sending traffic back to them but a lot of link exchanges will keep up lower senders just to keep the back links for the Search Engines to spider. Also, start looking at sponsors that offer gay sites to promote. We have new tours for our gay sites and they do very well. Hit me up via email or icq if you have any questions. See sig to join.               Link exchanges can be a bit tricky...you don't want them to be a traffic leak. A lot of blogs do it, but I'm not inclined to unless I know the other site has a lot of traffic, and is not going to compete with me. But you should also keep in mind that I don't do the typical TGP style blogs.

              Check out my search links list on InGayPorn.com for traffic sources, and remember that you will pull a lot for the SEs if your blog is text rich.

              BTW...contrary to what straight webmasters think...gay is not a niche...its a market.
