What's smart or original about this? Paypal phishing has existed for at least a couple of years...

This message would scare off a good bit of idiots...

the best ones are the .info scams with the paypal.com.user-15350.info those look pretty close.

back in the day i feel for one of these... but to bad for those suckers cause i only had like $1.12 in the account!

The link in the first post points to paypal.com. I get these eBay and PayPal scam mails a lot and they always point to other domains.

Usually when you mouse over the link it's some IP or fake paypal addy. The one in your post seems to be legit. I haven't clicked it. Even though it looks real, is it a fake paypal link?

I'd rather ask now instead of getting owned in my future.

I just got a phishing email the other day that looked wicked authetic, saying they thought my account had been hijacked because someone with a foreign IP had logged in (yeh I occasionally surf from diff locations so it made me stop and think)...

everything was almost perfect, but when I logged into my account I didn't see a notice requesting the same account verification (which was really extensively asked for in previous email)...

                                                damm they're good...almost got me

The newest ones come from alleged sellers on Ebay, wanting you to respond to them....they aren't sellers. They are phishing. But, the email looks like it's a question or a response from a seller.

I am 100% sure the average internet user will believe this e-maill. Sure it's dumb for a fucking webmaster that's spending his whole life behind a computer.
It may be "smart" but it's certainly not "new"

It's heading in the same direction as mortgage spams, which is good in a way. The more people see phishing emails the more likely they are to realise that something is Not Quite Right. Of course, on the way several will still be burned.....
