No More Heart Attacks In 10 Years ???

This is a very interesting article that talks about the possible elimination of heart disease and of course heart attacks. It all sounds logical from how it's explained. This would be a huge breakthrough if it can actually be implemented -

If there were some companies in on this race right now mentioned in the article I'm sure that would be great PR for their stock.

While these magic pills and new imaging technology will likely make a lot of progress in saving fit, healthy people from heart attacks -- the rest of the fast food nation will have to drop the weight AND shape up! Obese people will still die of heart attacks, no matter how many pills come on the market.

So, I guess it's up to parents to educate their children about diet and exercise and prevention, as this article, if correct, and I think it is....pretty much says we start the bad process from birth onward.

The medical community will say how great this is, but they dont want it. Think of how rich they all are from cancer treatments and heart disease treatments. If they get rid of these problems, they'll be eliminating thier 2 biggest money makers.

There are some diseases and conditions that are not cost effective for the medical/pharmaceutical/insurance business.....certain cancers will be cured....as will certain heart ailments.....heart attacks are not the money makers everyone thinks they are....

Chronic disease makes more money; and, not the ones that kill you in a blink of an eye....like heart attacks tend to do.

"It's like Miracle-Gro for your heart," Dr. Perin exults. One of the original 21 patients happened to die of an unrelated stroke, which gave Dr. Perin a chance to dissect his heart. What he found was better progress than he'd even dared hope for: "His heart was taking on the characteristics of a young, regenerating heart."

Damn, I was counting on heart failure to kill me before I could get cancer. Now I have to stop smoking.

People do not seem to get that the medical companies make more money the longer you live. So curing or fixing various ailments that kill people young is a profit booster.

                            Agreed.

There is no money in the long term treatment of diabetes. Insulin is cheap enough, but the complications are rather expensive and not cost effective for the business of medicine and pharmacology and other ancillary services.

One of the things that bothers me, is that with nano technology a lot of medical issues could be solved. But they dont use it, because it needs to be tested.

I just wonder what the government will do because you figure there's gonna be a hell of a lot more people collecting Social Security a lot longer.

We were watching a news blurb about the 'sandwich' generation....

With people living longer and college expenses going through the roof...it's very tough on those in their forties and fifties....who are now paying for their elderly parents and growing families.

It's unfortunate that you're right about parents expecting teachers and government to educate children.....and not just about health...but finances...

I've never met so many who know so little about finances.
