If the Democrat ticket is the first female president and the first black vice president, do not assume that the racist and male chauvinist hicks in the red states would guarantee their defeat.
Such a ticket would open up a very agressive equal rights debate in the media. Americans would be influenced by this. There is a whole segment of the US population out there who support equal rights and would vote in an election they would otherwise stay home for.
I actually believe that a Hillary / Obama ticket would all but guarantee victory.
