The deal with Iran, is we wouldn't attack them on the ground as a invassion force. We would do DS1 all over again and do thousands of air strikes and control their airspace and place a shipping embargo on them for the next 10 years.
We aren't going to match a army of civilians whom don't care if they die with our smart weapons. Hence the reason Iraq was a major mistake and GB should be held accountable for that major mistake.
We should just stick at what we do best and that's Shock and Awe style war and forget about a invasion force or regime changes because we don't have the man power for that kinda stuff. No army in the world does in this day and age.

Few points I'd like to make, there is no reason for attacking Iran or Syria in the first place. Attacking Iran is only going to create 10 thousand more Bin Ladens, it's only going to spew a louder, more agressive hatred for the USA, not just in the middle east but all over the world.
You see, in Iran you can't really go in there since you will be slaughtered by the Revolutionary Guard, who are one of the best armys in the world, you won't be fighting civillians you will be fighting an elite trained force who aren't afraid of death because of their religion - it will be a catastrophe.
Also the last point I want to make is, you do realise that Saudi Arabia is one of the USA's biggest ally's, right? You recently just sent them something of around $20 Billion in weapons, along with Egypt and Israel. Not will attacking Iran result in hundreds of thousands of USA troops dead, but they will set fire to the whole Saudi oil infrastructure which will probally end up with the dollar collapsing - so either way it is win win with Iran.
