Yeah, its a bad idea. As much as its driving you crazy, this usually just pushes girls away even further. I know, i've done it. For whatever reason acting like you don't give a shit seems to drive them nuts. Is she much younger than you? Does she have a lot of single friends? She could be just thinking the grass is greener on the other side but might change her mind, though probably not a good idea to take her back if her reason for breaking up is a 2 year relationship is "too long".
