Comcast has started shutting down torrent file sharing when too much of a file is comming from one user.
Some call it data discrimination, I call BS!
A message to people who want to deliver legal file to others over the internet:
Get a web server and do it. That's how you share files.
You upload it and you pay for the bandwidth.
Comcast dosen't sell server accounts, if they did then your bill for file sharing would be charged by bandwidth and you would owe then $20,000 by now.
Just because someone figured out a way to abuse a system does not mean the abuse should become accepted. Uploading a gig sized file to your server is not abuse but allowing 3000 users to pull the file from your home computer is.
Nobody will be happy if ISPs have to start charging by bandwidth to really "make things fair" so don't abuse the system of "one charge and use what you need" and turn it into "one charge, but I'm full of greed".
