We spent the last few days coming up with some minor changes to doing what we could for now to allow search and keep the board moving at a fast pace. More changes to come in the future but for now you should all be able to enjoy the search and enjoy fasters surfing of GFY too.

Soooooo.. Maybe I'm naive and don't understand all the issues, but it would seem to me that the easist solution would be to put search on it's own server.. it's own sub domain... it's own copy of the db.. and then have a script running every minute or so to update that copy of the db with new posts from the master and then once a day do a full update.Comment

Thank you! Its a little slower again still but that goes with the turf... I would rather wait to open a page an extra .5487 seconds then not be able to search or see all the same questions at the top of the page.Comment
