The value of someone like Trudeau is that he's a fearless supporter of the 1st ammendment. He's made mistakes and probably crossed the line before. But how many public figures are squeaky clean? Few. Does it make them less credible? In some cases perhaps.
Most of his book isn't about cures. It's about questions of conspiracy against the American public.

It's not that I don't think there are natural cures and that the pharmaceutical industry isn't corrupt - because that part is true. But this guy has been exposed as the leader of one money-making scam after another and I wouldn't believe a word he says. He started off with check forgery, has spent time in prison, and now scams the simple-minded and gullible out of millions of dollars.
