Why do Programs close sites and tell no one???

Going through some programs links on old pages and shit tons of stuff is closed or gone and I never noticed an email. They just redirect it to a like site. Cool they credit me the traffic but why not let us know they are doing it?

And one prgram redid the links and just 404'd the old ones. Now that sucks.

No shit... I love the programs that truly let you know what's going on.. But most programs suck when it comes to being partners with their affiliates, even some of the big ones which will remain nameless... There's one in particular.. they cut some sites.. ok, I went thru and fixed all that stuff up.. I checked recently and they redirected even more now.. Really sucks that my traffic gets wasted...

I've got this one small program.. I email/ICQ them about problems sometimes, they fix them but NEVER respond back to me and never send out emails about changes to things or new promo stuff etc... They'll never be more than "filler" for me because of that.

My experience has been they they close the site and my affiliate ID is nowhere to be found.. That's whay I have to scan my sites every day. Still don't catch it all.

Then again some sites convert at 1:700 or so and others at 0:10K. I know that no one really shaves, but it does give ya pause.

To all sponsors. 10K surfers sent to your tour and no conversion = I change sponsor. Very simple. Oh, I guess it must be my traffic that sucks??? Perhaps your tour? Or????

They email me everytime they put up 5 new hosted galleries. But ignore me when they close 5 sites. Don't they realise when conversions go to hell. I might just switch sponsors rather then look to see that they now send my asian traffic to their anal site since they closed the asian one.
