4 million is about $240,000 per year in tax-free income if invested conservatively in bonds. Figure that translates to a regular taxable salary of $400,000 per year.

Certainly that's a lot of money, and you'd never have to work again if you didn't want to. However, it's not the kind of dough to be living the rico suave lifestyle - no huge boats, no insane mansions and summer homes, etc.

However, if you're not into that sort of shit (once you meet the sorts of people who ARE, you'll want to go back to work) then it's great - you can take a low paying, low pressure job doing something you really enjoy, or maybe do some good in the world.
