Copying exact text from my site word for word. Not actual code for the website but text displayed.

Anything someone writes is automatically copyrighted. Proving who came up with it first is another issue.

I have noticed several "seo" sites that have created sites that pull the contents of almost every page out there.. they even copy my copyright notice LOL.

Basically how it works is , if you rank high for a keyword like BLACK PORN this guy creates a bot that crawls the first 20 sites listed on google and copies portions of the "text" and combines them to form a page seo'd for "black porn" ..

it doesnt seem to work very well..

Ill try to show an example for everyone.. to test if your being "scraped" just look for a unique text on your page like COPYRIGHT MYSITE.COM ont he bottom , but it in quotes and search it on google. see if any other sites have your text

Yeah he is doing something along those lines. Only downside for him is he left his site open for hotlinking.

i was asking the same thing awhile ago.. i hope not . i noticed a guy doing it on domain that suddenly "dropped rank" he had like 200 domains directly copying my full site.. and it did it ON DEMAND. like if i changed my website text and checked his site , it was instantly changing his page , so his page must pull my page "on the fly"

i just banned those ip's from pulling my site and they just pull blank text now.. but i cant help but think it hurt me..

Yeah I would think it can't hurt that much because there must be some sort of distinction within the search engines but the thought that it does is always there.

well the only good thing is , if they target the top searches then it must hurt everyone equally

Not sure if it will hurt you or not. But maybe passing the info to the SE will help keep you frome being hurt by it.

I've had pages practically fall out of Google while text copy pages took #1 results for site unique keywords...

try searching for a sample c&d letter online and then I guess send it to them and their host, won't really cost you anything more than a stamp... and when they see a physical letter, good chance they will act on it to avoid any problems...
