Westcoast Gathering-Vancouver

I'm looking for interest in a revamped and upscale show in Vancouver to be held sometime in September. As many of you know we used to have a show here which was very popular.

I have spoken to many people now about sponsorship and general interest and I can say with much certainty that we WILL have a show this year, probably in September.

I'd like to gauge a few opinions whether people would prefer a weekend show or a weekday show.

At this time we are looking at one of the first three weeks in September. I hear that there is a Montreal Show at some point early in September, so I dont want to clash with that, but let me know your thoughts please, as I move forward in planning this event.

I'd suggest a weekday... clubs + restaurants won't be as expensive to rent for sponsors

i guess we have a lot of shows all year round these days. The vancouver show used to be like the phoenix forum though. Small intimate and geat business.

I'd go with either the W-F or a Th-Sat setup, depending on how far past cruise season you do it. The airport is such a mess on the weekend if there are Alaska cruises finishing up... but at the same time, no one really likes going home on a Monday that I've ever heard of, myself included.

I put on the last Vancouver show, and it was a great time. Just dont do it the weekend of the 9/10 of September and I'd be happy to come back up there

Curious Toy Boy and I just stayed at the Pacific Palisades in December. It's affordable and lovely....and they still remember holding one of the conferences there.

For me, it really wouldn't matter if it were during the week or a weekend..but, wouldn't it be a problem for those webmasters who have day jobs if it were held during the week?

I took a quick look at FUBAR, it seems there's no webmaster events scheduled for July or October either, if either of those months would work.

We should get all the US webmasters up here for Canadian thanksgiving in Oct! show them how it's REALLY done

Ah yes one of my favourite memories of one of the Vancouver shows was a party at the grouse nest atop grouse mountain, this was an absolute great place to party and was done unbelievably well!
