Assuming Adam and Eve were "perfect", then the incest that then followed (as it would be requried), would lead to genetic defects making all of us imperfect... once there were enough people on the earth, then incest was no longer required and became a "bad" thing in order to reduce the genetic defects it would have resulted in.
