GKard Owes Me $1000

Been a while since I posted - Hi to everyone I saw in Vegas. I thought I'd share my experience with the GKard promotion at Internext and how I was denied payment when I phoned in with the $1000 winning card.

Me too mate, me too but I very seriously doubt it. What I find comical was that no mention was made of the expiry date with the $5 ones - only with the winning $1000 dollar one.

We have a WINNER ! ...You have to give them $900.00 as a security deposit before you can get the 1k you won..then once you have spent the 1k and theres no chargebacks refunds or cancellations you will recive your security deposit back ...in tri-monthly payments spanning over the course of 5 years with an additional year tacked on for any amounts credited over $899

I think of it more like a bait and switch than a nigerian 419 thing. I just find it disgusting.

Someone I know suggested I contact the Nevada Gaming Comission because the giveaway could be classed as a lottery. I doubt it would fly or do any good but might be worht it for shits and giggles.

I asked them thesame question when one of their girls came by our booth and handed me two expired cards. "Oh, uhm, that's because they were for another show we didn't make, but I assure you they have been extended past this show!"

I never bothered to activate them, they are stil in my suitcase I think.

I wonder if I call if they tell me I"m the $1000 winner too and that I can't have it...that would be funny (ie. they tell everyone they won!)

Interesting development (Thanks for all the replies BTW)

I got a phone call last night telling me that the card was indeed valid. Sadly I was out at the time and didn't have it with me and the time difference being what it was, the call center was closed when I got home. Called this morning and activated the card and I can verify it's loaded with $1000 (well, $999.50 after I checked the balance via ATM).

I also got this in my email:

Please let me start by apologizing for the problems you had with gKard?s customer service. This was an error on the part of their call center. As you know from conversations with our reps in Las Vegas, the gKard promotion was extended to January 31, 2006. You have a valid card in your hands. Based on the information in your article and conversations with Symetrix, the $1000 is legitimately yours. I know that customer service managers from Symetrix have been trying to reach you. Please contact me and I will make sure that this is corrected.

I have no idea who Symetrix is, but I guess it's their outsourced callcenter.

Props to gKard for coming through with the promotion as promised, but I still think it's a shame I had to write an article about it and post on a board for everything to be sorted out.

I'll update pornresource.com with the news over the weekend and keep you all informed of any changes.
