New HTTPD that can compete with Apache. Faster and more secure

    http://www.lighttpd.net/benchmark/
    For performance info, go there^

Security, speed, compliance, and flexibility--all of these describe LightTPD which is rapidly redefining efficiency of a webserver; as it is designed and optimized for high performance environments. With a small memory footprint compared to other web-servers, effective management of the cpu-load, and advanced feature set (FastCGI, CGI, Auth, Output-Compression, URL-Rewriting and many more) LightTPD is the perfect solution for every server that is suffering load problems. And best of all it's Open Source licensed under the revised BSD license.

"lightTPD is the BEST webserver out there, much faster than apache and much much much more flexible/configurable/secure than tux, and its fcgi php support is simply unbeatable."

I've ran it before, great package... I may just take the jump and install it on my live servers, I've got enough traffic now (especially on dynamic pages) that it may help.

Looks like almost anything you'd need can be executed through FastCGI...

I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.

could it be the reason it is so secure is because it isn't as popular as apache? what happens when it is more popular than apache?

                not being sarcastic, serious question

                  FreeBSD is dead.
                  IPv4 is dead.
                  Now Apache is dead.

                  Har Har Har.

I've heard good things about it for a while, but I've not run it in production.
