It's easier to skin them alive than after rigor mortis sets in, but they could kill the animal right before skinning. The commonly cited reason not to that is dogs and cats taste better if tortured before death (release of adrenaline). Some skinners break their limbs first, to make live skinning easier. A video making the rounds last month showed a sack of cats being boiled alive. Sounds like a real time saver, while still inflicting the requisite pain and suffering.Comment
