        Think you prob hit that nail on the head $5.

        An industry can market any product to appeal to a large audience - and their product may well be worth every penny. But bottom line is often that people have varying needs (whether generated by promo or a "real need" in reality) to accquire the product and what price level they may consider paying.

        It's often the case where folks worked for their money and habit will just not permit them to waste cash on trash - or stuff they just don't really need.

        There was one guy I know who had a massive issue over taking time off and flying to the US to see a Muhammad Ali fight years ago - but it happened in the end. Tho he was a boxing enthusiast, he just wanted to work his ass off and still does, despite he's worth.. dunno.. around $1.6 billion in personal assets. It's not the money - it's the inbred habit of earning money and spending it wisely. These folks never change.

        There is one guy, well-known for creating "customer demands" and just maniplulating large target audiences to have an appeal for products - most of the time folks don't need! Needless to say he's in heavy demand and has worked for many well-known brand names.

                That's your personal taste. People are spending $500 on a high quality dinner, so why not $500k on a car they fell in love with?

                I'm not a car freak myself but I feel for people who are fanatic about getting the exact item (insert "painting for their living room", "marble for entry hall" etc.) they dream of. Choice makes it possible.

                Nothing wrong with that if money is not an issue.
