I just sold a lens on craigslist for $600 and drove an hour to do it and now the guy said it does not fit and wants his money back. I'm not sure what to do, I want to do the right thing but that money just paid my car payment now I got to go back to my bank and take money out.
Damn are all craigslist sales final?

Good question. I guess it depends if you want to be a good guy or just a guy. I don't really see anything too wrong with letting him deal with it as it was his mistake. He should have done his research before hand especially if he had you drive an hour to deliver it. But again, it comes down to if you want to be a nice guy or not.Comment

You're gonna do what you're gonna do, but I wouldn't think you're under any obligation to give the guy his money back. Caveat Emptor.
Besides, it's his own damn fault.
If you did end up doing it, I'd charge him 38 cents a mile for both the previous trip and any trips that you need to make now... as well as maybe charging him a healthy "restocking fee."Last edited by D; 09-26-2007, 12:33 PM.-D.

Craigslist is just a bulletin board for you to post things for sale, they don't have the authority to decide if anything is final or not.
That being said, like Brad posted it's up to whether you want to be the "nice guy" or not... Hell driving an hour to deliver the lens was going above and beyond already.
For what it's worth, legally you're in the clear and could ignore this guy for the rest of your life.Comment

according to my accountant that fee is now up over 40 centsYou're gonna do what you're gonna do, but I wouldn't think you're under any obligation to give the guy his money back. Caveat Emptor.

Distributors easily but my website sales are a lot more stable. I might have 1 big company buying 2,000 DVD's per month for a $10,000 monthly profit and then with the blink of and eye there gone, it happens all the time but usually with my smaller distributors they maybe buy 500 or so DVDs per month.ThisWillShockYou.com DVD Store - TWSY UNCENSORED

That sounds like a plan to me...you drove to him to sell it and he can drive back to you if he wants his money back. If he doesn't want to drive to you then fuck him.
