hehe, thats funny. I look at lottery/gambling (same thing) as a bit of a thrill. I havent bought a lottery ticket in ages though, or gambled. But when I do, I look at it as paying for a thrill. Like buying a book or magazine. (it's just consumed faster).

But planning to fund retirement with it? haha, duh.

Only time I play is when the powerball gets up over 100 million or so. And I buy like 8 tickets. Other than that I dont play. Buying those 8 tickets is just for the fun "what if" factor. Makes you think of things you would like to have. It can be motivating too. Even if you dont win you think.. Hmm I didnt win but if I get my ass in gear I can be a millonaire in the next 1-4 years. I dont buy cause I think Ill win, but more just for that "what if" thing.
