Oh yeah, in the area where I live in, we only have a handful of stations and they all suck, for music, there's 3 country, 1 classic rock, 2 "today's hits", & 1 rock station, but it totally sucks because they play too much mellow stuff, SO for me, Sirius is perfect to fill my hard rock/metal needs

I've had my Sirius a couple months now. I gave up on music radio 7 or 8 years ago when the 2 stations I could actually enjoy listening to both switched to country within a short time of each other. To make it worse, a progressive hits station in a neighboring city that for years bragged it didn't play rap/hip hop switched to basically a rap/hip hop format. For several years my car radio stayed on AM for news/talk unless a passenger changed it, but after Katrina hit all of the stations dropped their regular programming and simulcasted post-Katrina recovery information. That's when I made the Sirius plunge. I love it

It seems like commercial radio is killing itself. They play the same songs over and over again. Commercial breaks are getting longer and their DJ's suck ass. No wonder why everyone is getting Sirius or XM radio.

The F.C.C. killed commercial radio, and I am not referring to the fines and threatens of indeceny charges, but rather the changing of the rule that restricted a company to owning no more than one AM, one FM and one TV station in any given market. In some areas now Clear Channel not only owns all the broadcast media but the billboards as you drive down the road and sometimes the local paper. They slap a "one size fits all" format on the stations that doesn't flex for local flavor so you now have the same homogenous crap sounding radio from coast to coast.Originally posted by Horny Dude.Comment

I'm a big fan of Winamp internet radio -- it's totally free and I can listen to hundreds of stations around the world commercial-free. I totally understand that Sirius is the latest big thing, but I get all the music I want without commercials, and I DON'T have to pay a monthly fee.Comment

Regular radio definitely blows!
I've had Sirius for about a year and love it. I just bought a new car and wouldn't buy one without the Sirius being built in. My drive to and from Vegas, for the show, was actually comfortable-for once!
