Cool idea i wonder if it will catch on, like the 42" tv but at about $18,000 its abit much to get now ;)

yeah, another prob with this type of monitors is your head should be in a specific position to see 3d, but I think there are 4-5 different variations of that position.. so i dunno

I think 3d monitors are going to be a fad, then it will die out as biomechanical interaction with computers will be developped.

I dont really see the advantage to having a 3d screen.

Remember watching earlier movies that had 3d software, and they would navigate through 3d space to find files etc... looked cool, but if you think about it, it was totally useless and inefficient. I don't think thats really changed today.

I think there's a lot of money in it if the customers want to see porn in 3D. It's very nice that no glasses or something else is needed. But there is only one position in front of the monitor (?)
We just need 3D content, new fileformats and browsers capable to show the stuff.
Designers will have the possibility to design a webpage with 3D pictures :-) But maybe some html tags to place text in the z-axis are needed as well...

just tried that site http://www.3dorgasm.com/ with the stereo glasses and I must say it kicks ass. Some of the images don't look like 3d at all, but images like these http://www.3dorgasm.com/AVN053.jpg are amazing, her shoe really looks like it's jumping out of the screen. very interesting stuff
