Is It OK to Call a Whore a "Whore"?

I just posted a topic on Genesis' magazine's top 100 Porn Stars, and I referred to them as Porn "Whores" instead of Porn Stars.

Someone called this disrespect.

I'm around these girls a whole lot of the time and they refer to themselves as whores.

And sluts.

Here's what dictionary.com says:

whore (hôr, hōr) Pronunciation Key
n.

1. A prostitute.
2. A person considered sexually promiscuous.
3. A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain.

intr.v. whored, whor·ing, whores

1. To associate or have sexual relations with prostitutes or a prostitute.
2. To accept payment in exchange for sexual relations.
3. To compromise one's principles for personal gain.

Not once does it mention the term as being derogatory.

The same goes for slut, kinda:

Dictionary.com says

"slut /slʌt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[sluht] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
?noun
1. a dirty, slovenly woman.
2. an immoral or dissolute woman; prostitute."

whereas American Heritage says

"slut (slŭt) Pronunciation Key
n.

1.
1. A person, especially a woman, considered sexually promiscuous.
2. A woman prostitute.
2. A slovenly woman; a slattern."

I dunno. It's late, and I'm tired, and I just drove home from LA, where I just got done working with lotsa whores and sluts, and I love and respect almost all of them.
